More circular, more epic, more cycling.
And this year… even more challenging: two days, a unique experience.
Sierra Nevada Límite 2025 arrives with important new features on its route, designed to offer the best possible cycling experience in an unrivalled setting. This year we present a new route that is more comfortable, more spectacular and has a strong connection with Granada’s cycling tradition.
🔄 A circular route starting and finishing in Pradollano
The first major change is its completely circular design, with the start and finish in Pradollano, which will facilitate logistics for all participants and allow them to enjoy all the services centralised in the ski resort. More convenience for cyclists, their companions and the organisation. Everything in one place.
⬇️ The climb to Purche is eliminated.
One of the toughest and most controversial sections of previous editions, the climb up to Purche, has been removed from the route. Instead, participants will descend directly from Pradollano, allowing them to save their strength for the challenges that lie ahead.
⛰️ Welcome to Güéjar Sierra!
As a notable new feature, the route includes for the first time a passage through the municipality of Güéjar Sierra, an enclave with a great cycling tradition and beautiful scenery. This inclusion is a tribute to one of the towns most closely linked to cycling in the province of Granada.
🏆Ascent via El Duque: cycling in its purest form
The most epic section of the new route will be the climb up Puerto del Duque, a pass that is as demanding as it is beautiful, which will take us to Puerto de la Sabina, just before tackling the final climb to the long-awaited finish line.
🚓 Security capsule: greater control, better experience
Sierra Nevada Límite 2026 incorporates an important advance in terms of safety and enjoyment: the safety capsule, approximately 3 km long, coordinated with the Traffic Civil Guard, will accompany cyclists at a controlled and steady speed of between 20 and 25 km/h, dynamically adapted to each section of the route (ascent or descent). There will be no stops or forced regroupings: a comfortable and constant pace will be maintained, designed so that as many participants as possible can enjoy a safe and smooth day of cycling.
From kilometre 110 to the finish line, 30 kilometres and 1,550 m+, the climb to Güéjar Sierra, El Duque and La Sabina to the finish line will be at free speed, so that each cyclist can tackle this great challenge at their own pace, as the perfect culmination to a spectacular route.
🏔️ Ascent of Veleta: the classic, now even more epic
And for those who love a big challenge, the Subida al Veleta climb remains unchanged: the legendary ascent to the highest peak in Europe open to cycling. But in 2026, there will be a big change: for the first time, it will be held in May, ensuring snow-covered Sierra Nevada and an absolutely unforgettable visual and emotional experience.
Reaching the summit of Veleta covered in snow, crossing majestic white landscapes, will be a unique spectacle that will turn every metre into a postcard and every cyclist into the protagonist of an epic feat.
🔥 A two-day event, a challenge for real cyclists
This year, we want to promote Sierra Nevada Límite as a complete two-day cycling experience. We want participants to take on the full challenge:
🚴♂️ Day 1: The circular route ending in Pradollano.
🚵♂️ Day 2: The legendary climb up Veleta.
Although it will be possible to participate on just one of the days, we want to encourage you to take on the full challenge. Because the real achievement isn’t just getting there, it’s pushing yourself twice, over two days, in Sierra Nevada.
📣 Registration opens soon!
If you want to be part of this unforgettable experience, stay tuned, because registration will open soon. And this year, places are going to fly.
